Our mailboxes
Subject to your specific needs, your New York locksmith can offer you various types of mailboxes. Serving both residential and commercial purposes, the boxes can be sold individually or as a group, the latter being more practical in Manhattan apartments and offices.
The mailboxes can be either vertical or horizontal in shape, and are usually aluminum or steel made. Outdoor free-standing mailboxes are made of heavy-gauge aluminum, and are designed to withstand the toughest weather conditions. Mail can be collected from either the front or rear side of the box, depending on its particular model. Mailboxes can also include bell or intercom buzzer push buttons.

USPS mailbox regulations
Nameplates and number tabs are often displayed on mailboxes. United States Postal Service regulations stipulate that in buildings with more than 15 tenants the nameplates be alphabetized.
Each mailbox unit should include one 'master door' compartment which is equipped with a postal lock (supplied by the post office). When mailboxes are situated within the building itself, the US Postal Service requires that a secure key keeper be installed, providing the postman with access to the mailboxes at all times.
